When a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Boston encounters a strange phenomenon, the passengers and crew mysteriously vanish, leaving behind only their personal belongings. The remaining passengers, including a pilot, a schoolteacher, a mysterious Englishman, and a blind girl with psychic abilities, must work together to uncover the truth behind their eerie surroundings and find a way back home. As they navigate through a world that's dull and lifeless, they discover that time itself is being consumed by strange creatures known as Langoliers. With the help of Bob, a mystery author with a talent for deduction, they must race against time to escape the clutches of the Langoliers and unravel the mystery before it's too late.
