In the wake of a crushing defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan's football union embarks on a revolutionary project to create the ultimate striker, one who can single-handedly turn the tide of a losing match. They gather 300 of the country's most talented young players, including Yoichi Isagi, a young man with a hunger for goals and a fierce competitive spirit. Under the guidance of coach Jinpachi Ego, the players are put through a grueling training program designed to push them to their limits and beyond. But as the competition intensityifies, Yoichi begins to question whether his own ego and desire for greatness will be enough to make him stand out among his peers.
