The Delta Force is a 1986 action-thriller film directed by Menahem Golan and starring Chuck Norris, Lee Marvin, and Martin Balsam. The movie is based on real events and follows the story of an elite team of commandos who are called in to rescue a group of hostages taken by Lebanese terrorists who have hijacked a Boeing 707 aircraft. The film begins with the introduction of Captain Scott McCoy (Chuck Norris), a member of the Delta Force, who is part of a team that is sent in to rescue a group of hostages taken by Palestinian terrorists in Beirut. Despite the risks, the team manages to successfully rescue the hostages and kill the terrorists. Five years later, a group of Palestinian terrorists, led by Abdul Rifi (Robert Forster), hijack American Travelways Airlines Flight 282, a Boeing 707 flying from Cairo to New York City via Athens and Rome. The terrorists demand that the pilot take them to Beirut, where they plan to release the hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners. As the jetliner approaches Beirut, McCoy and his team are called in to take out the terrorists and rescue the hostages. The team, which includes Colonel Nick Alexander (Lee Marvin), manages to infiltrate the aircraft and kill the terrorists without harming any of the hostages. However, things take a turn for the worse when the team discovers that two of the terrorists have escaped and have taken a group of passengers with them as hostages. McCoy and Alexander must race against time to find the terrorists before they can harm the hostages. The film features a mix of action, suspense, and drama, with a strong cast of characters who must work together under intense pressure to save the day. Despite the danger, McCoy and his team remain determined to complete their mission, no matter what the cost.
