In the heart of Italy, a young girl named Lucia lives in silence, her voice silenced by the trauma of her mother's death. Her father, Rocco, a strict and rugged farmer, fights tirelessly to protect their land, but his efforts are met with resistance. When a dangerous offer to bury toxic waste on their property threatens their livelihood, Rocco refuses, and in the ensuing conflict, he kills one of the aggressors. With their lives in danger, Rocco and Lucia embark on a treacherous journey across the dying landscapes of Basilicata. As they face challenges and hardships together, Rocco seeks redemption, and Lucia finds her voice again, becoming a strong and independent woman.
