Laika, a plucky pup from the outskirts of a Russian city, gets an out-of-this-world adventure when she's captured and trained to be a space pioneer. She's joined by a menagerie of animals launched from Earth, and together they explore the galaxy. But when a human cosmonaut arrives on their new planet home, their peaceful existence is threatened.
