Hit & Run is a 2012 American action comedy film directed by Dax Shepard (who also stars in the movie) and David Palmer. The movie follows Charlie Bronson (played by Dax Shepard), a former getaway driver who is enrolled in the Witness Protection Program and is living in Milton, California under the supervision of U.S. Marshal Randy Anderson (played by Tom Arnold). Charlie's girlfriend Annie Bean (played by Kristen Bell) is a professor with a doctorate in Non-Violent Conflict Resolution who is offered a job interview at UCLA. When Annie's ex-boyfriend Gil Rathbinn (played by Bradley Cooper) discovers that Charlie is a former criminal, he urges her not to go with him to Los Angeles. However, Annie decides to go with Charlie, and they embark on a dangerous journey filled with violent confrontations and high-speed chases. Along the way, they encounter a group of colorful characters, including Alex Dmitri (played by Ryan Hansen), a vengeful bank robber who is determined to hunt down Charlie and his crew. As they make their way to Los Angeles, Charlie and Annie's relationship is put to the test as they confront their past mistakes and try to outsmart their pursuers.
