"Grand Theft Parsons" is a comedy-drama film inspired by the true story of music legend Gram Parsons' fatal overdose and the outlandish adventures that followed. When Parsons' dies, his friend and former business partner, Phil Kaufman, sets out to fulfill a promise he made to Parsons: to liberate his soul by burning his body in the California desert. With the help of a psychedelic hearse and a few gallons of gasoline, Kaufman embarks on a surreal road trip pursued by Parsons' ex-girlfriend, stepfather, and the law. Along the way, he picks up a few unexpected passengers and discovers the true meaning of friendship, loyalty, and freedom.
