During the Khmer Rouge revolution in Cambodia, a young mother named Chou is separated from her 4-year-old son and must navigate the brutal work camps and fight for survival in order to reunite her family. Along the way, she endures unimaginable losses and struggles to maintain her dignity in the face of unspeakable horrors. With the help of her husband and a kind-hearted Khmer Rouge soldier, Chou risks everything to find her son and keep her family together.
