What is Free Chol Soo Lee about? Toggle content

In 1970s San Francisco, a Korean immigrant named Chol Soo Lee was wrongly convicted of a gang murder. Despite his innocence, he was sentenced to life in prison. For years, he fought to survive behind bars, but his case was largely ignored. That is, until journalist K.W. Lee took an interest in his story and began investigating. The journalist's findings exposed a deeply flawed justice system that had failed Chol Soo Lee, and sparked a pan-Asian American grassroots movement to fight for his freedom. The movement's efforts ultimately led to Chol Soo Lee's release, and inspired a new generation of social justice activists in the process.
