During World War II, young Jeroen is sent to live with a family in the countryside to escape the war-torn city. There, he befriends a Canadian soldier named Walt and they develop a deep and meaningful bond. As the war comes to an end, Walt's unit is ordered to move on, leaving Jeroen heartbroken and searching for his lost friend. Years later, as a successful choreographer, Jeroen reflects on his past and attempts to recapture the love and connection he once had with Walt through a ballet dance.
