The cult, known as Colonia Dignidad, is led by Paul Schäfer, an ex-Nazi officer who has evaded capture for war crimes. Lena soon discovers that the organization is not only a prison for dissidents but also a hub for illegal operations and torture. With the help of Ursel, a pregnant nurse, Lena and Daniel plan their escape from Colonia Dignidad. However, their attempt is threatened when they are discovered by the cult members and Ursel is killed in the process.
