What is Angels in the Outfield about? Toggle content

When a young foster child named Roger prays for a chance to have a family, angels are assigned to make that possible. With the help of his friend J.P. and skeptical manager George Knox, Roger's unique ability to see which players are receiving help from angels leads the struggling California Angels to a surprising second-half surge to the top of their division. As Roger's special ability is revealed to the press, the team and his caretaker Maggie Nelson defend George and his faith in front of the press. In the final game of the season against the Chicago White Sox, the Angels ultimately win on their own, clinching the division title and pennant. George adopts Roger and J.P., forming a new family and giving them a chance at a better life.
