The Wave is a 2015 Norwegian disaster movie directed by Roar Uthaug.The film takes place in the picturesque town of Geiranger, Norway, where Kristian Eikjord (Kristoffer Joner), a geologist, is working his final day before moving to Stavanger with his family. However, sensors on the mountain indicate that groundwater has disappeared, and Kristian becomes increasingly concerned about the possibility of a landslide triggering a tsunami. As he rushes back to the geology center, he leaves his children Sondre and Julia in the car. With the help of Jacob (Arthur Berning), they discover that the sensor wires have snapped due to movements inside the mountain. Despite convincing his former boss Arvid (Fridtjov Såheim) to enter a higher state of alert, they refuse to sound the evacuation alarm during mid-tourist season. Kristian eventually finds his children and decides to spend one last night in their house before leaving for good. Meanwhile, Sondre heads down to the hotel basement with headphones to skateboard while Julia wants to say goodbye to their house. As Kristian drives Julia there , he suddenly realizes that something is wrong and starts racing against time tp save his family as sounds an alarm for people living nearby. With less than ten minutes until impact ,Kristian faces an unthinkable choice : save as many lives as possible or ensure his own family's survival .
