A young American journalist named Sondra Pransky visits London and attends a magic show, where she volunteers to participate on stage . During the performance, she encounters the ghost of a deceased journalist named Joe Strombel who was investigating a series of murders . Joe tells Sondra that she should investigate the case of the Tarot Card Killer, who is still on the loose . Sondra enlists the help of the magician Sid Waterman, and they start chasing leads on Peter Lyman, a British aristocrat who is their prime suspect. However, things get complicated when Sondra starts falling in love with Peter, who may not be the killer after all.
