Rustom is a 2016 Indian crime thriller film directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Neeraj Pandey. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Ileana D'Cruz, and Arjan Bajwa in lead roles. The story is set in 1959 and follows Rustom Pavri (Akshay Kumar), a decorated naval officer who is happily married to Cynthia (Ileana D'Cruz). However, their marriage hits the rocks when Rustom discovers that Cynthia is having an affair with his friend Vikram Makhija (Arjan Bajwa). After a confrontation with Vikram, Rustom kills him in a fit of rage and surrenders to the police. The film takes us through the investigation, trial, and eventual acquittal of Rustom for Vikram's murder. Along the way, secrets about Rustom and Vikram's past are revealed, and the film ends with Rustom being declared not guilty by the jury.
