In 2025, medical technology has advanced to the point where bio-mechanical organs are a reality. However, these expensive "artiforgs" are only available to those who can afford them, and when customers default on their payments, the corporation known as The Union sends "repo men" to forcibly repossess the organs, resulting in the death of the owner. Remy and Jake are among the best repo men in the business, but Remy's family life is affected by his work. When he allows Jake to perform a repossession nearby, he is caught by his wife Carol who leaves with their son Peter in anger. As Remy struggles with his own moral doubts about his job, he becomes the target of a repossession himself when he defaults on his own artiforg payments. Forced to flee from The Union's agents and confronted with the harsh reality of those who cannot afford these life-saving organs, Remy must choose between his loyalty to The Union and his own sense of right and wrong.
