The Big Blue (1988) is a romantic adventure film that follows the story of two childhood friends, Jacques Mayol and Enzo Molinari, who share a passion for free diving. She fabricates an insurance problem that requires her presence at the World Diving Championships in Taormina, Sicily, where Jacques will be competing against Enzo. As the competition approaches, tensions rise between the two friends as they prepare to face off against each other in their quest for victory and self-discovery.
