The Return of the Pink Panther: A Comedic Crime Caper In the fictional land of Lugash, the prized Pink Panther diamond has been stolen, leaving only a white glove with a golden "P" as a clue. The Shah of Lugash calls upon the bumbling Inspector Clouseau to solve the case and recover the stolen treasure. Clouseau, demoted to beat cop by his nemesis Chief Inspector Dreyfus, is reinstated and sent to Lugash to investigate. He quickly identifies Sir Charles Litton, also known as "the notorious Phantom," as the prime suspect. However, Sir Charles claims he has been framed and sets out to clear his name. As Clouseau blunders his way through the investigation, Sir Charles narrowly escapes murder attempts by his associate, the "Fat Man," and secret police Colonel Sharki. Clouseau follows Lady Claudine Litton to a hotel in Switzerland, where he botches several attempts to gather clues. Meanwhile, Sir Charles avoids another plot by the Fat Man and his underling Pepi and escapes from Lugash. In Gstaad, Clouseau is ordered by Dreyfus to arrest Lady Claudine but discovers that she stole the diamond to spice up her life with her husband. Colonel Sharki appears ready to kill them all until Inspector Clouseau bursts in just in time. Sir Charles explains everything to Clouseau before Dreyfus shows up with a rifle - revealing himself as the mysterious assassin hunting Clouseaus - and saves them all from Sharki's deadly intentions..
