Shawn Spencer, a young man with an incredible talent for observation, uses his skills to solve crimes and help the police. After being falsely accused of a crime he didn't commit, Shawn convinces the police that he has psychic powers and begins working with them as a consultant. With the help of his best friend Gus, Shawn starts a detective agency called Psych, where they use their unique skills to solve mysteries and crimes. Shawn's abilities impress the police, but not everyone is convinced of his supposed psychic powers. Despite the doubts, Shawn continues to use his talents to help the police and build his reputation as a psychic detective. Throughout it all, Shawn's relationship with his father and the police is complex, as they struggle to understand his abilities and motivations.
