In the year 476, the Western Roman Empire is on the brink of collapse. as barbarian forces invade Rome, the young Emperor Romulus Augustulus, only 12 years old, is captured and taken to the island of Capri. His tutor, Ambrosinus, a druid and member of a secret brotherhood protecting the sword of Julius Caesar joins him in exile. When Romulus discovers Caesar's sword hidden in a villa, he believes it to be a prophecy and keeps it. Ambrosinus and Romulus are rescued by Aurelius, the general of the Nova Invicta Legion and his soldiers. They escape to Britain in search of the lost Roman legion who may still be loyal to Rome. Along the way they are pursued by Goths led by Wulfila who covets Caesar's sword. When they reach Britain, they meet a former commanding general of the legion who reveals that the legion has disbanded and settled as farmers, living in fear of a tyrannical warlord named Vortgyn. The last hope for Romulus and his companions is to find the last legion , the only remaining loyalists of Rome , and convince them to support their cause. But, the journey will be full of challenges , danger and unexpected surprises . Will Romulus fulfill his destiny , retrieve his kingdom and restore the honor of Rome? The fate of an empire rests on the shoulders of one young man.
