As the First World War comes to a close, a group of African American soldiers, the 'Buffalo Soldiers,' are trapped behind enemy lines. After one of them manages to escape, he is ordered to join a select team of white soldiers, led by a battle-scarred officer, to find and rescue the remaining survivors. Despite their racial differences, the men put aside their animosity and work together to bring their comrades home.
