The Beach House tells the story of Cara Rudland (Minka Kelly), a young woman who returns to her childhood home in South Carolina after losing her job in Chicago. As she reconnects with her mother Lovie (Andie MacDowell) and her old flame Brett (Chad Michael Murray), Cara must confront her family's troubled past and their devotion to protecting wild sea turtles. When Lovie reveals she has terminal cancer, Cara attempts to restore their relationship and save their beloved beach house from being sold. Through her journey, Cara discovers love, forgiveness; and the true meaning of family.
