What is Shining Through about? 
Shining Through is a romantic espionage thriller set during World War II. Linda Voss (Melanie Griffith), a secretary from Queens, is recruited by her boss and lover, Ed Leland (Michael Douglas), to work as a spy for the US government. She infiltrates the German government by posing as a cook and nanny for a high-ranking Nazi officer, Franze-Otto Dietrich (Liam Neeson), and his family. Her mission is to gather information on the V-1 flying bomb, but she also has a personal motive to find her Jewish family members in Berlin.
