Nowhere to Run is a 1993 action-thriller film directed by Robert Harmon and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Rosanna Arquette, and Kieran Culkin. The movie follows the story of Sam Gillen (Van Damme), an escaped convict who is being pursued by the police and a ruthless developer named Franklin Hale (Joss Ackland) who wants to take over the land where Sam is hiding. Sam takes refuge in a widow's home, Clydie Anderson (Arquette), and her two children, and helps them fight against Hale's attempts to drive them off their land. The movie starts with a prison bus crashing, and Sam escaping with his partner Billy. They make their way to a nearby farm, where they find a woman and her two children. Sam returns to the farm the next night to return a salt shaker he took, and he is almost discovered by one of the children. He breaks in again the following night, and a goon attack ensues. Sam fights off the goons and saves the family. He then purchases an old Triumph Bonneville motorcycle from Clydie's husband and repairs it with Mookie's help. Later, Sam thwarts another attempt by Hale to ruin Clydie's farmland by coating it with oil. A town council meeting gets heated when another resident, Tom, refuses to sell his land to Hale. That night Tom's barn gets burned down. Mookie awakens Sam, who saves Tom and puts out the fire with their water tower before their fuel tanks can ignite further angering Hale. Lonnie, the sheriff, beats Sam and demands he leaves, but Clydie takes a liking to Samand they have sex. Lonnie finds out Sam is a fugitive; Sam tells Clydie that he and Billy robbed a bank, but Billy killed a guard while defending him and got caught while the other escaped. Clydie tells Sam to leave, so he returns to his campsite; Hale enlists Sheriff's department hunts him down, so he leads them on a motorcycle chase that ultimately escapes but returns to cleat. Running out of time growing desperate guns and forces her to sign over land. Same arrives just in time to stop them from burning down house and kills Dunston with revolver The police arrive arrest Hap (who is holding Clyde at gunpoint). Sam allows Lonnie to arrest him, having decided stop running but promises to return to cleat kids whom he loves
