Antoinette, a school teacher, eagerly anticipates her summer holidays with her secret lover, Vladimir, but he cancels their plans to join his wife and daughter on a trekking holiday in the Cévennes National Park. Undeterred, Antoinette decides to follow their trail, alone, with a protective donkey named Patrick. Along the way, she discovers new insights about life, love, and independence. When she finally catches up with Vladimir's family, tensions arise, but ultimately, the encounter helps her find a new sense of purpose.
