In the small Appalachian town of Mountain Top,a former lawyer turned preacher, Mike, is faced with a difficult decision when an eccentric man, Sam, asks him to represent him in court. Sam is accused of embezzling $100,000 from his church, but claims to have received divine instructions to write letters to random people, guiding them onto the right path. Despite initial hesitation, Mike takes on the case, which sets off a chain of events that will change his and Sam's lives forever.
