"Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea" is a historical action epic that tells the tale of Kunjali Marakkar, a fearless sailor who led a rebellion against the Portuguese in 16th-century India. After his family is killed by Portuguese forces, Muhammad, who later becomes Kunjali Marakkar, and his brother Pattu flee to Kozhikode, where they start a new life. Muhammad takes up the mantle of Kunjali Marakkar, becoming a protector of the people and a fugitive to the kingdom. He recruits a bandit named Thangudu and engages in guerilla warfare against Portuguese vessels, earning him the respect and loyalty of the people. Marakkar becomes the new naval commander and leads the kingdom to several victories, but his success makes him many enemies. Achuthan becomes jealous of Marakkar's success and frames him for abducting Aarcha, the daughter of a minister, leading to tension between the two. Anandan, a compassionate military commander, tries to resolve the conflict, but Achuthan kills Chinnali, one of Marakkar's closest friends. Marakkar assumes Anandan is responsible and slashes his throat before realizing his mistake. With the help of Kolathunadu's treachery, Nambyathiri, a new monarch, takes over the Samoothiri's place and submits to Portuguese rule. The Portuguese and Kozhikode work together to kill Marakkar but fail due to resistance. Marakken manages kidnap De Gama, forcing the release of his people, but he is drawn into trap orchestrated by Achudan and Subaida, Aimutty's wife. She regrets it when Mar akkar apologizes, but it is too late. De Gama's men arrest him, and Marakar is brought to Velha Goa for sentencing to death by guillotine after refusing mercy .The film ends with Marakker joining his mother in the afterlife.
