The one who grabs the cross is guaranteed good fortune and prosperity. This year, a woman named Petrunya joins the ritual on a whim and manages to get the cross before the others. The men are outraged - how dare a woman participate in their sacred tradition? Petrunya holds her ground, refusing to give up the cross despite the angry reactions. As tensions rise, a journalist named Slavica takes notice of the commotion and decides to investigate. Will Petrunya be able to keep her cross, or will the men's anger get the best of her?
