Drumline follows the journey of Devon Miles, a young drummer from Harlem who enrolls in Atlanta A&T University on a full scholarship to join their prestigious marching band. Initially struggling to adapt to the band's strict rules and hierarchical structure, Devon's natural talent and determination eventually earn him a spot on the field. However, his cocky attitude and lack of respect for his teammates and leaders creates tension within the group. As he navigates his way through college life, relationships, and rivalries, Devon must learn to balance his individuality with teamwork and discipline in order to succeed in the world of competitive drumlines. The movie features exhilarating music performances and showcases the unique culture of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States.
