Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dracula about? Toggle content

The ominous portrayal of Count Dracula by Bela Lugosi, combined with horror specialist director Tod Browning, help to create an eerie mood in this 1931 classic film. Dracula, a vampire, manipulates a solicitor, Renfield, to find him a new home in London, where he terrorizes and preys on the city's inhabitants. Renfield becomes Dracula's slave, and the pair sail to London together. As Dracula begins preying on London socialites, the two become the subject of study for a supernaturalist professor, Abraham Van Helsing. The film follows Dracula's attempts to convert Mina into his bride and Van Helsing's efforts to stop him. With its eerie atmosphere and classic horror elements, Dracula remains a masterpiece not only of the genre but for all time.
