In a post-apocalyptic world where food is scarce and grain is the new currency, a group of eccentric inhabitants of a dilapidated apartment building have resorted to cannibalism to survive. The building's landlord, Clapet, runs a butcher's shop on the ground floor, luring unsuspecting victims to their deaths with the promise of employment. But when a charismatic circus clown named Louison applies for the job, things take a different turn. As Louison wins over the hearts of both Clapet and his daughter Julie, a vegetarian revolution led by the enigmatic Troglodistes threatens to upend the building's twisted social order. Will Louison become the latest victim of Clapet's butcher knife or will the power of love and revolution change the course of events?
