Two former college friends, Ashley and Veronica, lead unsatisfying lives. Ashley, an artist, struggles to sell her work, while Veronica, a housewife, is treated poorly by her husband. They have a chance encounter at a party, leading to a physical altercation that sends Veronica into a coma. When Veronica awakens two years later, she discovers her husband has passed away and her son has died in the Middle East war.
