Uniquely for a spoof, and certainly unique in Mel Brook's oeuvre, it has a darkly angry heart. It is a film about real bigotry, a phony West and the unreliability of movies as repositories for a shared history.

Gjord under Mel Brooks glansdagar när allt han rörde vid blev guld för biografägarna! Humorn är inte helt tidlös men scenen när den färgade Sheriffen rider in i stan är sanslöst bra och ständigt aktuell!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Blazing Saddles about? Toggle content

In the wild west of 1874, a new railroad threatens to run through the small town of Rock Ridge, and its corrupt politicians appoint a black Sheriff, Bart, to sabotage the project. But Bart, played by Cleavon Little, turns out to be a force to be reckoned with, and his partnership with the town's drunk, Jim, played by Gene Wilder, sets out to save the town from Hedley Lamarr's evil plans. With a cast of colorful characters, including Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn, and Slim Pickens, this Mel Brooks' western parody is a wild ride of non-stop laughter and irreverent humor.
