In 17th-century France, renowned musician Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe retreats from the world to dedicate his life to music and his two young daughters, following the death of his wife. When a young Marin Marais seeks out Sainte-Colombe to learn the art of viol playing, their tumultuous relationship sets off a chain of events that will change their lives forever. Through tragedy and loss, love and forgiveness, the two musicians come to understand the true meaning of art and sacrifice. With stunning performances by Gérard Depardieu and Jean-Pierre Marielle, Tous les Matins du Monde is a beautiful and poignant tale of music, mastery, and the human condition.
