In the midst of unimaginable horror, a forbidden love blossoms between a young Jewish woman, Helena Citron, and a high-ranking SS officer, Franz Wunsch. Their relationship, born out of necessity and desperation, protected them from the brutal realities of Auschwitz. Thirty years later, their paths cross again in a Vienna courtroom, where Helena must confront her past and decide whether to help the man who saved her life but also perpetrated unspeakable atrocities.
