Ep. #869: Steve Albini poster

After almost 20 years of conversations, my final talk with Steve Albini took place on April 23, 2024. Steve died suddenly on May 7. This chat was about the new Shellac album, To All Trains, and Steve told me about every song, though I hadn't yet heard the album. Preparing this episode was sad and surreal; it felt like Steve was still here. The interview itself appears at roughly the 45:00 mark, after my own remembrance and tribute. I love you Steve and will miss you forever. Thank you for everything. Support vish on Patreon! Announcing Kreative Kontrol 's SubscrHybrid Plan! poster

I'm going to experiment with a hybrid subscription model for Kreative Kontrol. Every other episode will be free as usual, while the others will be for Patreon subscribers at the $6 a month level. Those will be full, ad-free episodes. The general public will receive clips/teasers of these episodes on their podcast players with a link to subscribe to hear the whole episode.  I’ve chosen every other episode as a model because it’s consistent and fair. I don’t want to attribute more value to one episode over another because it might draw larger audiences to the show. Just, every other episode will be subscriber only, so half the episodes will be accessible to the general public.  The $4 tier will still consist of ad-free versions of the episodes that are otherwise accessible beyond Patreon. To access the subscription-only episodes though, everyone will have to join the $6 tier. The $6 tier will also still include any bonus content that is offered to listeners. Any tier that’s $10 and higher will include all of those perks plus entry into our monthly random prize pack draws. As usual, Patreon subscriptions are flexible so that you can raise, lower, or cancel your support at any time. I know paywalls are no fun, but I think this hybrid is a nice way of experimenting with a subscriber model while still doing the work of supporting my guests and their work and my listeners who want to engage with the show both as Patreon supporters and as casual listeners. So, thanks for listening and supporting me on Patreon!   Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/kreative-kontrol. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
