"I Am Your Father" is a documentary that tells the story of David Prowse, the man behind the mask of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy. Prowse, a bodybuilder and actor, was relatively unknown despite his iconic role, as James Earl Jones dubbed Vader's voice and Sebastian Shaw portrayed an unmasked Vader. The film follows a young filmmaker and a group of fans on a mission to find Prowse and persuade him to re-shoot a sequence that would have given him the recognition he deserved. Along the way, they uncover the reasons behind the strained relationship between Prowse and Lucasfilm, and try to give Prowse the glory he never had.
